This armchair made by the great artist Ubunji Kidokoro is the original piece which inspired Charlotte Perriand for her iconic creations using laminated bamboo. This armchair is the starting point : Charlotte Perriand must have seen it during her trips in Japan in 1940’s and 1950’s. It’s an essential proof for design connections between France and Japan.
